earlier today i was minding my own business, watching an episode of the cosby show [season 4 finale] on the road to idaho, when all of a sudden i was using every ounce of strength within me to stop the tears in my eyes from flowing over my lids onto my cheeks.
here's why:
at first, i was blaming the sudden emotions on my departure from my home and my family, but i know now that the reason why i was crying was because i felt the truthfulness of the lyrics in the very depths of my soul. seeing this performance comforted me and reminded me that if i put the Lord first, He will bless me. one of my new years resolutions for 2011 is to grow closer to Him and to truly get to know Him better and this was the perfect way to begin that journey.
doesn't phylicia rashad have the most beautiful, soulful voice?
i'm a little bit jealous.
