after we had played a game called "smurf" [what is it with mormons and weird group games??] and got to know each other a little better, one of my new fhe brothers struck up a conversation with me. he was a nice guy, slightly nerdy, and when he asked me what my major was, the conversation took an interesting turn. it went a little something like this:
him: so, what's your major?
me: art history.
him: oh... i'm sorry!
me: uh... why are you apologizing to me?
him: i don't know. it just seems like such a boring major. what do you even study, anyway? art and the history behind it?
me: uh... yeah. that's exactly what i study as an art history major. it's actually way more interesting than you think it is. i love it!
him: oh, okay.
me: so, what's your major?
him: healthcare administration.
me: oh, I'M SORRY!
him: ...
me: just kidding.
i'm sad to say that this is not the first time this has happened to me. i don't get it! why is art history such a turn-off to some people? it's a fascinating subject! i wish everyone who has dissed art history had to take a class so they could learn for themselves how awesome it is.
i guess in the meantime, i'll just have to give the ignoramuses a taste of their own medicine.

well, i guess you guys just can't be friends. (seriously, dude?)
also, please blog about your WofW 'problem' with your roomates. Please. I need it in writing.
And by WofW I mean 'Word of Wisdom', not 'World of Warcraft'.
Just sayin'.
I want to hear the Word of Wisdom story too!
