when i was a freshman here at byui, i took a class called american heritage. my teacher was stern, strict, and used teaching methods that didn't work for my brain. final grades in his class consisted of attendance and the four monster tests he gave throughout the semester. i went into the testing center to take my very first test for that class, felt confident about it while taking it, and was immediately flummoxed when i looked at the screen displaying my grade: D-.
i was devastated.
i remember walking home to my dorm, flopping on the couch, and listening to this song on repeat. maybe i should have listened to something a little more upbeat, but sometimes you just want to be sad for a while. and for me at that time in my life, this song was just the ticket. ever since that day, this has been my go-to bad day song. it's perfectly melancholy.

I just heard this song the other day...I was flipping through the channels and saw this video. I really liked it. I'm so glad I didn't have to take American Heritage!
